40Cr steel is one of the most widely used steels for mechanical operations. The hardenability of this steel is outstanding, it can be hardened to Ф28 ～ 60mm when water quenching, and Ф15 ～ 40mm when oil quenching. In addition to quenching and tempering treatment, 40Cr steel is also suitable for cyanidation and high frequency quenching treatment. 40Cr steel has good cutting performance. When the hardness is 174 ～ 229HB, the relative machinability is 60%. The steel is suitable for making medium-sized plastic molds.

Q420C steel belongs to low alloy high strength steel. Q420 is named as the steel with yield strength of 420MPa, C means the impact temperature is 0 ℃, and Q is the abbreviation of yield strength. Chemical composition of Q420C steel: C ≤ 0.20, Si ≤ 0.50, Mn ≤ 1.70, P ≤ 0.035, S ≤ 0.035, Nb ≤ 0.07, V ≤ 0.20, Ti ≤ 0.20, Cr ≤ 0.30, Ni ≤ 0.80, Cu ≤ 0.30, N ≤ 0.015, Mo ≤ 0.20. The mechanical properties of Q420C steel are: yield strength ≥ 340 Mpa, tensile strength 500-680 Mpa, elongation after fracture ≥ 18%, impact energy 34J. grade 09CUPCRNI-B, Q420C steel has good mechanical properties and weldability, good cold and hot workability.
